Q.
I frequently install Windows XP on my system, but it becomes a very tedious job to install other programs with it for instance: ACDsee, Adobe Reader, Microsoft Office, etcetera. Iwould like to know if there is any program which can make a bundle or package of these applications, so that all of them can be installed in one go?
A.
You could always try the free nLite (www.nliteos.com), which lets you customise your installation of Windows XP and integrate add-ons, hot fixes and update packs to it. An extensive list of add-ons for nLite is available at www.winaddons.com
Alternatively, you could try Norton Ghost, which allows PC users to clone entire disks states. It is often used as a backup method. So, the next time you carry out a fresh install of XP, along with system drivers, and have it running on your system, burn an image of the hard drive to a CD/DVD for backup.
Once that is done, carry on installing your applications and when you have a satisfactory set of applications installed, make another image of your hard drive and burn that to a CD or DVD.
This way, the next time you need to carry out a clean install on your system, you can just restore the snapshot from these backups.
